Welcome to the Senior House Corporation web site! The Corp was formed by and for Senior House alums in 2018 in order to promote and manage Steer Roast after the closure of Senior House in 2017. We also intend to sponsor undergraduate events and maintain a student presence at MIT, and support the recently formed Senior House student association.
The Corporation is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization (a social club). This is a member-based organization that can raise funds for the purpose of hosting events without being taxed. It has a board with officers that are elected by the Corp members.
Join the Senior House Corporation! If you attended MIT and lived in Senior House, joining is as simple a submitting your name and email address. We will check MIT alumni records and enroll you. A password is required to view some of the site due to legal reasons. You can remain a silent member or choose to participate in the history, photo and artwork pages. A large membership for the corporation is important for both tax reasons and to maintain our relationship with the MIT Alumni Office.
Steer Roast 2024 will happen in-person on May 3rd to May 5th!!
All alumni of the East Side dorms, and their family members, are welcome and encouraged to attend!
The Head Veeps this year are undergrads Leviticus Norman and Maggie Lin, supported by Alum Veep Emeritus elliott seaman. They can be contacted at headveeps24@mit.edu with any questions, suggestions, and offers to help with the various parts that make up Roast: bands, food, art, security, bartending etc.
The Steer Roast schedule can be viewed at onlylifecankill.us. Due to construction at the East Campus dorm, this year’s pit lighting will be held on Friday May 3, 4PM, at Briggs Field A. The feast will be held on Saturday May 4, 6PM at the MIT Student Center, room W20-307. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS.
Steer Roast is largely funded with alumni donations through the Senior House Corporation. Your kind donations keep Steer Roast happening!!
